Words have a magical power. They can bring either the greatest happiness or deepest despair; they can transfer knowledge from teacher to student; words enable the orator to sway his audience and dictate its decisions. Words are capable of arousing the strongest emotions and prompting all (wo)men's actions.
Steven Gordon, LCSW specializes in: Psychotherapy services, with an emphasis on positive, cognitive process, crystallizing your potentialities, and having a corrective emotional experience.
I am dedicated to: Fostering personal growth and freedom, enhancing interpersonal communication, promoting emotional courage, improving coping mechanisms, and providing a nurturing and safe environment.
Regardless of why anyone seeks professional guidance, it is always an important decision.
Individual therapy has the potential to promote tremendous personal growth, and provides freedom from unconscious fears, and external stressors.
Marital counseling guides you toward resolving difficult relationship conflicts, and discussing trust/intimacy/boundaries.
Therapy with children and adolescents helps form a stable bond, and allows them to communicate through projective play.
In all cases, my focus is on assisting you to achieve greater self awareness, improved communication skills, and emotional courage.
Therapy can be thought provoking and even frightening, and even speaking about this process, as a topic, in therapy, can be helpful.
Please know that you will be accepted and respected exactly as you are. I will support your efforts to change your life in the ways most helpful to you, to be valued; to evolve.
There is much emphasis on the working, therapeutic alliance.
That is my commitment to you, as a therapist. I have over 26 years of post-Masters experience.
